A course to discover some of the delightful, rousing, tender and fun songs that were favourites of the Tudors. We will sing them together in a light-hearted group experience. No musical experience is necessary.
Emily Longhurst is a teacher of old English songs, particularly Folk songs and Sea Shanties and the Catches (Rounds) collected during the 1500s – the Freemen’s songs, songs of the ordinary people – and has many opportunities to teach them to groups of adults and children. She has researched, sung and performed songs from the Tudor period and have taught them to all ages at festivals and workshops.
The course takes place in an historic building it is advisable to wear warm layers.
£60 per person, to include tuition, teas and coffees. Vegetarian refreshments will be provided, if you have any other dietary requirements please let us know in advance. The Museum café will be open or you can bring a packed lunch.
