The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum is a unique location for your wedding and a tranquil haven from the rush and noise of modern living. Here, over 40 historic buildings set in a beautiful 19th century park provide an outstanding backdrop for your great day.

The Museum has two rooms licensed for civil weddings, these are Crawley Hall, a beautiful 15th timber framed building which can accomodate Wedding ceremonies for up to 50 guests and the Downland Gridshell an innovative modern timber building which can accomodate ceremonies for up to 120 people.

One of the attractions of the Museum is a as a wedding venue is that only one wedding ceremony is booked on each day, so you will not feel rushed and can relax and enjoy your day. The Museum also provides a beautiful backdrop for your wedding, with plenty of idyllic settings for your wedding photographs.


For those that wish to stay and celebrate their wedding, whether with champagne and canapés by the lake, or beer and doughnuts in the Market Square, we will try to accommodate your wishes.
