Help us – and we’ll help you!

As a registered charity we can take advantage of the Gift Aid scheme, by which we can reclaim basic rate tax on your gift.

You can imagine the difference this makes to the Museum's finances. With your help we can preserve the historic buildings and unique archives in our care for future generations to enjoy.

Here's how it works!

If you are a UK taxpayer,

  • You donate your entry fee plus 10% and GiftAid it
  • We say thank you by giving you a token worth £1 to spend in the Museum café or shop
  • The Government repays us the tax on your gift – giving us an extra 25%!

In terms of pounds and pence,

  • You give us a gift of £10.50
