10am to 4pm
This course is for beginners of any age, men or women, or those who want to rekindle their skills in hand knitting. Knitting will be taught with the emphasis on developing confidence in their technique. The tutor will bring samples of hand knitting that show a variety of stitches to look at and inspire!
The course will cover how to begin a project, the useful basic stitches that form the basis of any pattern, changing colour and techniques for finishing. By the end of the day students will have knitted sample swatches, and have planned and begun a small project. Students will have enough information, skill and inspiration to then carry on their own ideas.
Caroline Pede is an enthusiastic knitter who also spends as much time using her spinning wheel. Much of her handiwork has been seen at the Rare Breeds show where her spinning and knitting have been recognised on more than one occasion with best in show for 2010. Currently she is busy launching KnitNaks, a range of her own hand made knitted products which are great fun and very popular.
